On Friday, Nick Saban and Alabama football started preseason camp.
The goal is to return to the College Football Playoff and capture a second consecutive national championship since the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Impact players such as Mac Jones, Najee Harris, DeVonta Smith, Alex Leatherwood, Landon Dickerson, and Deonte Brown are gone from the offense, but Bryce Young and others expect to have the team working smoothly.
Alabama has an opportunity to have an explosive offense this season. Bill O’Brien has a lot to work with as the new coordinator, and having an experienced defense takes the pressure off him.
During Wednesday’s segment of In My Own Words, yours truly highlighted four players to watch. In Stephen’s “Big Four,” I discuss the MVP, breakout player, rising star, and player with the most to prove.
Stephen’s “Big 4” for Alabama’s offense
Most Valuable Player – OT Evan Neal
Breakout Player – QB Bryce Young
Rising Star – TE Jahleel Billingsley
Player with the most to prove – WR Slade Bolden
