Alabama 45 – Southern Miss 3

Key Insight: “Alabama has to play a complete game on both sides of the ball. It needs balance on offense, and fundamentals on defense. The Crimson Tide must be relentless in preparing for Ole Miss next week.

JUSTIN SMITH / SCOUTING/RECRUITING ANALYST

Alabama 52  – Southern Miss 7

Key Insight: “Alabama football’s main goal this game will be creating consistency on both sides of the football. I expect Alabama to have a balanced attack on offense and try to create some big plays down the field in the pass game. The Crimson Tide’s defense will not be tasked with stopping a talented Southern Miss offense. The Eagles have scored less than ten points in two of their last three games. Alabama’s defense should be able to use this game to work out some kinks and improve on some technical things like tackling. They should be able to use this game to carry momentum into their matchup with  Ole Miss next week.

PATRICK DOWD / ALABAMA BEAT REPORTER

Alabama 55 – Southern Miss 7

Key Insight: “Alabama has been inconsistent on both sides of the ball at this point in the season. With tough opponents on the horizon it’s imperative that it finds cohesion on offense and defense. Southern Miss runs a similar style of offense to Florida which will give the Crimson Tide defense an opportunity to make up for mistakes from a week ago. The offense also needs to work on putting together a complete performance and not stalling out at the midpoint of the game.”
