2024 DE Sterling Dixon recaps Alabama visit, latest Power 5 offers

Sterling Dixon visited the University of Alabama for the first time this season Saturday.

Dixon is a product of Mobile Christian School in Mobile, Alabama and is one of the top sophomore recruits inside the state. He currently holds five D1 offers, including three offers from Power five programs. Alabama’s outside linebacker coach Sal Sunseri extended Saturday’s game invite to the rising prospect.

“Coach Sunseri was actually the one who invited me up,” Dixon said. “He showed a lot of love. He told me to keep working, and the offer would come soon.”

Alabama’s defensive line coach Freddie Roach also caught up with Dixon during his visit to Tuscaloosa.

“Coach Roach is always cool to talk to,” said Dixon. “We always talk when I see him, but we just discussed me gaining weight and me coming up there for another game.”

Unfortunately, Dixon was only able to play two games this season before he tore his labrum against Escambia County on Sept. 3. However, this has not stopped his recruitment from flourishing. Both Tennessee and Georgia have extended offers to Dixon this month.

“It is a blessing,” Dixon said. “I have been working for this, and it is finally paying off, but I have to keep going.”

The 6-foot-4, 205 pounder was highly productive in the two games he did play. He had four sacks against UMS-Wright to open the season and followed that performance up with four tackles and a sack against Escambia County before he was injured.
