Alabama football’s freshman wide receiver, Agiye Hall set social media on fire when he tweeted, “Yea nah, calling it quits” after the Crimson Tide defeated Mississippi State 49-9.
The tweet was deleted shortly afterward, but it seem to refer that the former five-star recruit was parting ways with the Alabama football program due to a lack of playing time since the tweet was posted after Hall retweeted a tweet from an Alabama fan that got a lot of traction. The fan’s tweet pushed for Hall and several other freshmen to get more playing time after Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M.

Hall appeared to make peace with Nick Saban and the program when he quoted Saban on his Instagram story the following week. However, the Florida product did not play or suit up for the Crimson Tide in their home win over Tennessee and released a tweet during the game and another tweet at its conclusion, causing further speculation.
Hall’s tweet during the game came at 7:23 p.m. CST, which was late in the first half of the Alabama-Tennessee game. He tweeted “Low tolerance,” which could be insinuating a couple of different things, but with him expressing frustrations about his playing time as a freshman, one has to believe he is referring to the state of his relationship with the Alabama program.
Hall’s tweet after the game read “null,” which is typically slang for no. Based on the timing of this tweet, it looks as if Hall was referring to Nick Saban’s comments about him in his press conference after the Tennessee game.

Nick Saban referenced players not being able to play because they ‘miss things’ when asked about Hall.
“We’re encouraging guys to do the right thing, whether it’s personally, academically, and we have protocols that when guys miss so many things, they don’t get to play in the game. That’s always been the rule around here. So I’m not gonna disclose and I don’t think it’s anybody’s business when we’re trying to get players to do the right thing and we use playing time and opportunities in football to try to get them to do the right thing personally and academically.”
The Hall saga continued on Wednesday morning when Hall tweeted, “Patience kill more dreams the alarm,” which could be a rebuttal to the message many fans and Alabama wide receiver, John Metchie have sent Hall in recent weeks. That message has been to be patient.

Hall has played in four games this season. His only reception was a 10-yard gain against Miami to start the season. The Florida product was one of the most talented wide receiver prospects in the 2021 class, but only time will tell if he will stick it out with Alabama and put that talent on display for the Crimson Tide in the future.
