RELATED: Ty Simpson Recruiting Profile
Simpson is rated as a five-star recruit by Touchdown Alabama and is a product of Westview High School. He chose Alabama over offers from Clemson, Tennessee and others. With Alabama’s current quarterback situation, Simpson is aware that he may have to wait for his opportunity to play.
“Whether I start my freshman year or my fifth-year senior year, I do not really care,” Simpson told Touchdown Alabama in September. “It is just the fact I get to go down there and learn from the best coach of all time. Be like how Mac was I guess you can say, learn from Tua and Jalen. It is just Bryce, Paul and Jalen for me.”
The five-star recruit capped off his senior season by leading Westview to a 2A State Championship. He was named the Gatorade Tennessee Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the 2A classification after throwing for 2,827 yards and 41 touchdowns.
Simpson is listed at 6-foot-1 and 187 pounds. He is exciting to watch with his ability to improvise and throw on the run. He is quicker than many expect and runs with toughness.
