Brian Robinson played with a pulled lower body muscle versus Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.

Alabama’s senior running back had a new status Thursday during player interviews.

As a first-team All-SEC selection, Robinson will be good to go for the Crimson Tide versus Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

He recorded a 1,000-yard (1,071) rushing season in his fifth year. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder totaled 14 rushing touchdowns and averaged 89.3 yards per game.

“I feel a lot better physically,” Robinson said to reporters. “I have the best athletic trainers in the country. I spent a lot of time with them. They do everything in their power to get you feeling better.”

Jeff Allen is Alabama’s head athletic trainer.

He has served on Nick Saban’s staff since 2007.

Allen’s team of trainers and interns have helped the Tide. The additions of David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea in 2020 gave Alabama an elite strength staff.

Robinson has four 100-yard games and has improved his value as a receiver. He’s caught 31 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns.

Cincinnati has an exceptional pass defense, but it struggles against the run. The Bearcats allow 137.5 yards per matchup and have surrendered 14 rushing scores. Robinson could be in for another marquee performance in the playoff.
