Alabama is continuing to lose players to the NCAA transfer portal after Monday’s loss to Georgia.
Jaylen Moody is the latest name to enter the portal. Respectable sources confirmed the news today with Touchdown Alabama Magazine. Moody, a native of Conway, S.C., came to the Crimson Tide in its 2018 class as a three-star linebacker.

He was a core special teams player, but he had some good moments on defense.
Moody stepped up versus Arkansas in 2020 for an injured Christian Harris and totaled seven tackles. He won three SEC Championships (2018, 2020, 2021) and one College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020. Moody played well in the 2021 spring game, and he recorded an interception versus Miami. He did not get many opportunities on defense in the fall.
He becomes the sixth notable player in the portal — joining Paul Tyson (quarterback), Tommy Brown (offensive lineman), Drew Sanders (linebacker), King Mwikuta (linebacker), and Jahleel Billingsley (tight end). Alabama has Braxton Barker (quarterback), Stone Hollenback (quarterback), Clark Griffin (defensive back), Colin Bryant (tight end), and Brylan Lanier (defensive back) in the portal as walk-ons.
Crimson Tide fans wish the best for Moody.
