Alabama safety DeMarcco Hellams is returning to school for 2022 season

DeMarcco Hellams had a successful surgery and he is forgoing the NFL Draft.

He announced today via Instagram his decision to return to Alabama for the 2022 season.

Hellams battled through a bone bruise and a high ankle sprain to record 88 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, and three interceptions in 2021. He will have an opportunity to improve his draft status for 2023 with a strong showing next fall.

The Crimson Tide has Henry To’oto’o, DJ Dale, Jordan Battle (reportedly), and Hellams back on defense.
