Nick Saban is expected to lose a staffer from the Alabama football program.
Johnathan Galante is headed to Marshall University. Fox’s Bruce Feldman reported that Galante will have the special teams coordinator position for the Thundering Herd. He got the off-field analyst position for the Crimson Tide in 2019.

He worked behind the scenes for Will Reichard’s perfect kicking season — 14 of 14 field goals, 84 of 84 PATs — in 2020. Galante also helped Reichard excel in 2021. He assisted the development of Ty Perine (2019), Charlie Scott (2020), and James Burnip (2021) as punters. Jaylen Waddle (2019) and DeVonta Smith (2020) returned one punt for a touchdown, while Waddle (2019) and Jameson Williams (2021) had success on kickoff returns with Galante. He now joins Charles Huff, a former associate head coach and running backs coach, at Marshall. Huff was on Coach Saban’s staff from 2019 to 2020 and was an excellent recruiter.
