Shaun Dion Hamilton spent the 2021 regular season on injured reserve for the Detroit Lions.
The franchise remains invested in him as he re-signed for a second year on Monday.

Hamilton played the first three years of his professional career with the Washington Redskins/Football Team (2018-20).

He got selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and totaled 97 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception, and two pass deflections in his time at Washington. Hamilton has battled through some injuries in the National Football League, but he looks to become a productive linebacker for Detroit. He was an instinctive playmaker in four seasons (2014-17) at the University of Alabama. Despite sustaining knee injuries, Hamilton produced in 2016 and 2017.
He posted 104 tackles, 14.5 stops for loss, 4.5 sacks, three breakups, three quarterback hurries, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 21 games. Hamilton won three Southeastern Conference Championships (2014-16) and two College Football Playoff National Championships (2015, 2017) with the Crimson Tide. Alabama fans look forward to him having success with the Lions.
