Jalen Hurts has prepared himself to have a breakout year in his third pro season, but could the former Alabama quarterback play himself into a massive contract with the Philadelphia Eagles for 2023?

He has an opportunity to do it if he turns in marquee numbers in the fall.

Hurts guided the Eagles to the playoffs last year and totaled 3,144 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. He led one of the best rushing offenses in the National Football League, but Hurts is now comfortable in a system he’s entering for the third year.

The Eagles’ organization and his teammates believe in him, and Philadelphia brought Hurts another weapon in A.J. Brown at wide receiver. Eliot Shorr-Parks, beat reporter for the Eagles via Philadelphia Sports Talk, said the Eagles “are likely” going to give Hurts a massive contract next offseason. His deal could be between $35 and $40 million per year. He has made strides of improvement in his game, but huge production will place Hurts in a different tax bracket. We are about to see him work.

Philadelphia wants to believe Hurts is the one for them.
