Woods is rated as a five-star recruit, and he is one of the top defensive lineman prospects in the 2023 recruiting class. He will choose between Alabama, Clemson, Florida and Jackson State.
The Gators and Jackson State are late risers in Woods’ recruitment. However, Clemson and Alabama have been staples in Woods’s recruitment for quite some time.
The Crimson Tide offered Woods when he was a freshman at Thompson High School. He grew up an Alabama fan, and he has several ties to the Alabama football program, including two former teammates who will be freshman players for Alabama this season.
“It is the longest recruiting relationship I have,” Woods told Touchdown Alabama during the spring. “I am an in-state kid, I have a lot of ties to Alabama. I have great relationships with the players, coaches and some of their commits. Relationships are probably the biggest thing for me as far as recruiting goes. I feel I have a really strong relationship with that staff. Another thing about Alabama is that their reputation speaks for itself and what they are able to do with guys at my position is second to none.”
Clemson offered Woods in June of 2021. Dabo Swinney and the Tigers have made a good impression on the rising senior.
“They have one of the best coaches in college football,” said Woods. “Coach Swinney has come in there and made their program really something special. It is really about their coaching staff and how they care about the man you become regardless of the football player you become. They set you up great for the future.”
Woods’ announcement can be streamed on Coach Hayes Football YouTube channel.
