5-Star LB Qua Russaw announces final six

Qua Russaw poses for picture after Alabama visit

Qua Russaw announced his final six schools Friday via Twitter.

Russaw attends Carver Montgomery High School in Alabama, and he is rated as a five-star recruit on multiple recruiting sites. He included Alabama, Alabama State, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Ohio State in his latest top schools’ list.

The Crimson Tide offered Russaw in October while he was having an impressive junior season. He visited UA multiple times after earning an offer, including on A-Day, where he left feeling like he could see himself playing within Alabama’s defensive scheme. Nick Saban, Alabama’s safeties coach Charles Kelly and Alabama’s defensive coordinator Pete Golding have been actively recruiting Russaw and his teammate, James Smith, who is also a five-star recruit.

At 6-foot-2 and approximately 230 pounds, Russaw has the ability to be a speedy and powerful edge rusher or an athletic inside linebacker at the next level. The senior is open to playing either at the next level. He sees similarities in his game and other Alabama edge rushers.

“I feel I play similar to them, but I think they will want to play me at inside linebacker,” said Russaw. “But I feel like I can play edge.”
