Alabama football fans endured the offseason.

The Crimson Tide opens the 2022 college football campaign Saturday night against Utah State.

SEC Network will have the call from Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CT. Coach Nick Saban begins his journey to an eighth national championship, seventh for the Tide, in his coaching tenure. After losing to Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game to finish 2021, Alabama wants to return to the stage and finish. It faces a Utah State team that finished as the best in the Mountain West Conference last year at 11-3. The Aggies return many talented players, but the Crimson Tide are on a mission. On Friday, Patrick Dowd (reporter) and Stephen Smith (senior reporter) for Touchdown Alabama Magazine broke down three freshmen starters, Alabama’s offense and the defense heading into the matchup with Utah State.

Tide fans want the season to open with dominance. We will see how Alabama comes out at home.
