Alabama football’s underclassmen projected NFL draft slot

Alabama LB Will Anderson Jr. (#31) waves to fans at Bryant-Denny Stadium as he exits the field after victory over Vanderbilt in 2022 season.

Alabama football saw four of its underclassmen declare for the NFL Draft Monday.

Brian Branch, Bryce Young, Will Anderson and Jahmyr Gibbs announced they were moving on to the NFL. Each of them will have an opportunity to secure first-round draft status over the next few months.

Young is projected to no longer be on the board after the first three picks. Several mock drafts have the Heisman Trophy winner listed as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Anderson is projected to be off the board quickly following Young. Some mock drafts have him being selected before Young and as high as the No. 1 overall pick. It is hard to see him falling out of the top five at this point in time. The star edge rusher finished his Alabama career with 34.5 sacks

Branch’s projected NFL draft position is not as clear as Young and Anderson, but he has been listed as a mid to late first-round draft pick on several mock drafts. His performance in the Allstate Sugar Bowl has his stock on the rise.

Gibbs will be one of the top backs in this year’s NFL Draft. The number of running backs selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in today’s game is low, but the Georgia native will have an opportunity to be one of the first backs off the board.

The Crimson Tide are still waiting to hear NFL Draft decisions from Eli Ricks and Tyler Harrell.
