He knows he is a smaller quarterback, but it does not bother Bryce Young or the NFL teams that have met him.
The University of Alabama alum has been nothing short of impressive at the NFL Scouting Combine.

He has blown away pro scouts, coaches, general managers, and owners with his football intelligence, leadership, confidence, and poise. Some have stated his football acumen is ‘off the charts.’ Young may be small, but he makes dynamic things happen on the field. Alabama fans witness it first-hand in the 2021 Iron Bowl against Auburn during Young’s sophomore season.
He earned the starting quarterback job in fall camp and turned in monster numbers throughout the year.
The former five-star prospect from California had five matchups where he totaled 4+ touchdown passes, but the contest against Auburn showed Young’s grit. He had his worst completion rating (49.0) and suffered seven sacks; however, Young displayed poised and a smile on the Crimson Tide’s final drive that will be remembered forever. He guided Alabama’s offense downfield in 12 plays for 97 yards, finishing the possession with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Corey Brooks. Young tied the game at 10 in the fourth quarter and pushed the Tide to a 24-22 victory in overtime. His toughness through adversity propelled him to become the Tide’s first Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback. He took Alabama to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff. Mike Kaye, a beat reporter for the Carolina Panthers via The Charlotte Observer, said Young is ‘extremely proud’ of his performance against the Tigers in that Iron Bowl matchup.
