ESPN’s Mel Kiper describes Will Anderson as ‘really good, not special’ in latest mock draft

In his latest NFL mock draft, ESPN’s Mel Kiper offered some interesting analysis on Alabama linebacker Will Anderson.

Many believe Anderson could be the best player in the draft despite not being projected to be the first selection and Kiper offered his most up-to-date thoughts.

“Will Anderson Jr., if you want him, you go three to four,” Kiper said. “Get a guy who certainly uses his hands so well. Incredibly productive two years ago, solid year this past season. He doesn’t have the bend. He doesn’t have that explosiveness out of the blocks of a Von Miller or a Myles Garrett. I think he’s a really good player. I don’t think he’s a special player. But for the Cardinals, he’s exactly what they need. An edge rusher.”

Although it isn’t exactly a shot at Anderson to not want to compare him to a pair of the best pass rushers of the decade, what he did put on tape during his three seasons with the Crimson Tide could be considered special by some.

During his tenure at Alabama Anderson amassed 204 total tackles, 58.5 tackles for loss, 34.5 sacks, four pass deflections, one forced fumble and one interception returned for a touchdown.
