Explosive first year of varsity football leads Jamauri McClure to D1 offers

Jamauri McClure

Jamauri McClure has leaped onto the recruiting scene over the last few days in large part due to his stellar first year playing football at the varsity level.

McClure is a junior at Goshen High School in Goshen, Alabama. He holds three offers with offers from Purdue, Troy and Western Michigan after having no offers and no interest from any schools less than a week ago.

The 2024 recruit’s recruitment is projected to grow at a fast rate, and he is grateful for the opportunities he now holds.

“I am just excited that I am actually getting exposure to get these offers,” McClure told Touchdown Alabama. “I am glad they are giving me an opportunity.”

McClure currently stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 190 pounds. He possesses verified elite speed with a PR of 10.84 in the 100-meter dash. His speed combined with his tough running style and thick frame make him difficult to contain out of the backfield

The junior finished the 2024 season with 1,173 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 121 carries. He also showed he can catch the ball out of the backfield by pulling in 12 receptions for 354 yards and seven touchdowns.

With offers in hand and interest from schools growing, the Goshen back wants to improve multiple parts of his game.

“There is always something to improve on, but I want to improve on my lateral movement and footwork for sure,” McClure said.
