Panthers QB Bryce Young already impressing at rookie mini camp

Alabama QB Bryce Young (#9) holding the ball in the pocket against Texas

It’s only been 16 days since former Alabama Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young was selected first overall by the Carolina Panthers, but Young is already impressing his new coach.

Panthers rookie mini-camp started this week and Head Coach Frank Reich was pleased with what he saw.

“I don’t want to overdo it on the first day, but he did every little thing right,” said Reich.  The little throws out in the flat, the little bubble screen stuff, the deep overthrow, he knew where guys were supposed to be, and just showed complete command. Bryce made a great impression, obviously mentally and physically he looked the part in every way, threw the ball exceedingly well, you could tell he was in good space mentally. He really had a firm grasp on everything we asked him.”

The Panthers will begin OTA Offseason workouts on May 23rd and will kick off their mandatory minicamp on June 13, where Young will continue to try and impress.
