Pete Golding has a former University of Alabama defensive lineman with him at Ole Miss.

As the Rebels’ new defensive coordinator, he pulled Stephon Wynn out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Wynn, a former four-star defensive end in the 2018 recruiting class, initially chose the Crimson Tide. He played in 21 games for the Tide from 2018 to 2021, recording 16 tackles and a quarterback hurry. He got a College Football Playoff National Championship ring in 2020 and three Southeastern Conference Championship rings in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

Wynn entered the transfer portal and committed to the University of Nebraska. He had 22 tackles, a pass breakup, and a quarterback hurry in one season with the Cornhuskers in 2022. In his return to the SEC, Wynn joins forces with Golding and Lane Kiffin. Ole Miss will travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium to face Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide in the fall.

A reunion between Wynn and his former team will be interesting.
