He was a natural pitcher for Brookwood (Ga.) High School and a good quarterback, but four-star Dylan Lonergan showed off another talent in Tuesday’s charity golf event for Nick’s Kids in Birmingham, Ala.

Nick Saban had to coach some players up on the gold course, but Lonergan did not need it.

The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder displayed perfect form on his swing at the Old Overton Golf Club. He has not played golf in eight years, according to his dad (Dan), but Lonergan launched a drive down the course. As one of two quarterbacks signed in the 2023 class, Lonergan completed eight of 14 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the spring game. He took the Crimson offense on an 80-yard touchdown drive that finished on a 6-yard scoring toss to running back Justice Haynes. Coach Saban praised Lonergan for his poise running the offense. He served as a dual-threat quarterback for Brookwood, totaling 3,932 yards and 39 touchdowns in his junior season.

Lonergan is one of five quarterbacks competing for an opportunity to start for the Tide.
