Alabama football will welcome the remanding member of its 2023 recruiting class to campus this summer.
Touchdown Alabama will highlight each of Alabama’s newest additions over the next few days in an article series.
We continue our series with former five-star, Yhonzae Pierre.
–Position: Outside Linebacker
-Hometown: Eufaula, Alabama
-Weight: 220 pounds
–Summary: Pierre exploded up the recruiting rankings after he consistently exploded into the backfield of Eufaula’s opponents during his senior season.
Pierre went from a consensus four-star recruit to being recognized as a five-star and one of the top edge prospects in the country. There has always been one plan for Pierre the moment he committed to Alabama, and it was to be an outside linebacker.
Those plans remain intact with him having several Zoom meetings with the Crimson Tide’s outside linebacker coach Coleman Hutzler as he waited to enroll.
Pierre’s exceptionally quick get-off, length, the way he uses his hands and the effort he shows when pursuing from the backside were the strengths of his game as a high school prospect. He has made strides with adding on mass and muscle ahead of his enrollment at Alabama, but he will make even bigger strides when he is working with Alabama’s strength and conditioning staff, which will result in more strength and power on the gridiron.
