Tua Tagovailoa’s NFL journey is filled with plenty of twists and turns. Since entering the league in 2020, Tagovailoa has dealt with multiple setbacks, and after seemingly turning a corner, was dealt a few devastating blows after suffering multiple concussions during the 2022 season.
In an effort to be proactive, Tagovailoa has gone through a few measures to ensure his health for the 2023 season and beyond. Most notably, he has participated in jiu jitsu to assist with falling properly to prevent concussions and other injuries.
Additionally, he has added more weight to his frame, most notably in his lower body.
With his newfound physique, fans have affectionately taken notice and seem to love the “thick” Tua look.
He spends his offseason working with performance coach, Nick Hicks of Per4orm in the Miami, Florida area. Recently, Hicks posted a recent photo of Tagovailoa with a clear size difference and added weight compared to his first three seasons in the NFL.
Alabama fans, along with Dolphins fans chimed in to give their take on Tagovailoa’s changing frame. Take a look at the best reactions below.

You can tell his core has gotten way meatier – I'm thinking that translates into superior balance, mobility and to the hips – so we can rip the ball even stronger!! Holy..
