Nick Saban of the University of Alabama is a candidate for the Bobby Dodd Trophy.

The 71-year-old enters his 17th season with the Crimson Tide in the fall. He eyes an eighth national championship in his coaching career and a seventh at Alabama. Saban earned the Bobby Dodd honor in 2014, coaching the group to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a berth in the inaugural College Football Playoff. He won three national championships for Alabama in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) era in 2009, 2011, and 2012, and three national titles in the CFP era (2015, 2017, 2020).
