He is more focused on solving aspects of college football than being a politician, but the way Nick Saban represents the University of Alabama, he could transition smoothly into politics.

The Crimson Tide’s head football coach wants competitive balance in his sport with name, image, and likeness.

He has taken the conversation to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

Saban spent the week addressing members of Congress about NIL and how better parameters can be put around it. After some discussions, he grabbed a photo with Representative Terri Sewell. Sewell, a native of Selma, Ala., is a fan of Alabama football.

Saban wants to provide information and gain some too with this endeavor. In talking with members of Congress — Senate and House of Representatives — he wants to make sure that collegiate athletes can be compensated for their name, image, and likeness, but the competitive balance remains. We will see what comes from it, but Saban is making moves on the subject.
