There is a lot of give and take among the offense and defense when you’re practicing and competing to get better as a football team.
This has been a constant theme in Alabama football’s fall camp. While Ryan Grubb has complimented his offense on their ability to take care of the football, the Crimson Tide’s defense is putting pressure on themselves to create more turnovers.
Alabama football’s veteran defensive lineman, Tim Keenan III feels this is an area Alabama must get better at.
“We got to do a better job of getting the takeaways that we do because we get some tip passes and stuff like that,” Keenan said. “We just got to come down with them. But Ty, they have been doing a very good job of protecting the ball, taking care of the ball. It’s just we got to execute better and make the plays that are gimmies.”
The Birmingham, Alabama native went on to say once quarterbacks are live in an actual football game, this task will be much more manageable. This is something Alabama’s defensive coordinator, Kane Wommack has previously talked about.
Keenan is one of the leaders on the Crimson Tide’s defense. He has high expectations for this group in 2025.
“Just overall dominance,” Keenan said when asked what difference he wanted to see from Alabama in 2025. at SEC Media Days. “Just to play to not past the whistle but play to the whistle, just overall beating, overall winning the whole game. Just taking it to the next man the best we can, as hard as we can.”
