He missed his rookie season because of recovering from treatable cancer, but John Metchie is back.
Metchie, a University of Alabama alumnus, got selected by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The native Canadian entered into the Crimson Tide’s 2019 class as a four-star wide receiver. He helped Alabama to two Southeastern Conference Championships (2020, 2021) and a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020.
Metchie totaled 55 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns in 2020. He led the Tide for receptions (96) in 2021 for 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns. Metchie had No. 88 for the Texans last year, but he is returning to his college number.

It is going to be fun watching Metchie reclaim his rookie year in the National Football League.
