One of Alabama’s most exciting five-star players from its 2017 class faced a somber reality Wednesday.

Henry Ruggs III, a native of Montgomery, Ala., received a three to ten-year prison sentence for a 2021 fatal DUI crash that claimed the life of Tina Tintor in Las Vegas, Nev. David Charns, an investigative reporter for Channel 8 News Now in Las Vegas, reported the story. Ruggs gave his apology to Tintor’s family in court before his sentence from his plea deal was handed to him.

Ruggs, a 2017 College Football Playoff National Champion, got taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Raiders.
The 24-year-old had a young daughter. After the tragic incident, Las Vegas cut him from the team.
