Henry Ruggs to accept plea agreement for three to ten years

Henry Ruggs (#11) walks off field for Raiders after 20-9 loss to Chicago Bears this season
Kirby Lee - USA Today Sports

Henry Ruggs accepted a plea agreement for three to ten years Tuesday after pleading guilty to one count of driving under the influence (DUI) resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

The report came from ESPN as both counts stem from a case in 2021, which he was involved in a car crash that killed Tina Tintor.

Before the incident, the 24-year got selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders.

He enjoyed some success as a rookie, catching 26 passes for 452 yards and two touchdowns.

Ruggs played in seven games his sophomore year, totaling 24 receptions for 469 yards and two touchdowns.

The fatal car crash that claimed Tintor’s life forced the Raiders to release Ruggs. As a native of Montgomery, Ala., he was a five-star prospect upon his arrival to the University of Alabama in 2017. Ruggs led all receivers for the Crimson Tide with six touchdown catches as a freshman, helping the Tide win a College Football Playoff National Championship.

He assisted Alabama to a Southeastern Conference Championship in 2018.
