Eagles’ QB Jalen Hurts graces cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine

Jalen Hurts (#1) has the ball attempting to pass for Eagles versus Jaguars in 2022
Bill Streicher - USA TODAY Sports

He got benched in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship for Tua Tagovailoa in Alabama’s matchup against Georgia, but that seems like a distant memory now.

Jalen Hurts grew from that moment and is one of the rising stars in the National Football League.

He showed the critics his improved skill set in the passing game last year, totaling 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Hurts accounted for 35 total scores and led the Philadelphia Eagles to 14 victories. He guided the franchise to Super Bowl LVII versus the Kansas City Chiefs and outplayed Patrick Mahomes. Hurts was responsible for 304 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. Kansas City earned a 38-35 victory but Hurts captured everyone’s attention. The native Texan has made moves throughout the offseason. He graces the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine for its preview issue.

Hurts has become the new “Fresh Prince” of Philadelphia.

Will Smith held the title for his role in the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” as the storyline had him being from West Philadelphia.
