It is fitting how the NFL’s Top 100 players of 2023 has Jalen Hurts in the top five.

He becomes the 13th University of Alabama alumnus on the list and second-highest rated quarterback in the league. Hurts was voted at No. 3 by his peers, which was two steps below Patrick Mahomes at No. 1. The native Texan got selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles and few believed he would become a star. Hurts silenced every doubter in his third season, leading the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII. He outplayed Mahomes on the biggest stage, totaling 304 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, and four touchdowns. Hurts nearly delivered Philadelphia an NFL Championship, but he returns hungry.

He became a marquee passer in 2022 with 3,701 yards and 22 touchdown passes. Hurts is the definition of determination, confidence, and humility. He joined DeVonta Smith (No. 100), Marlon Humphrey (No. 92), Tua Tagovailoa (No. 82), Trevon Diggs (No. 60), Jonathan Allen (No. 52), Patrick Surtain II (No. 49), C.J.
