Two of its nine captains are alums of the University of Alabama. Jalen Hurts (quarterback) and DeVonta Smith (wide receiver) have earned the honor of being leaders of their peers in the locker room. Both excelled in 2022 for the Eagles as they led the offense to a Super Bowl showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs. Hurts proved he is a complete quarterback, tossing for 3,701 passing yards and totaling 35 touchdowns last year. Smith finished 2022 with 95 catches for 1,196 yards and seven scores.

Hurts and Smith made the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2023 at Nos. 3 and 100 respectively.
It will be exciting to see what they do this season. Philadelphia opens its campaign Sunday against the Patriots.
