McCarron turned in impressive numbers in the USFL and caught the attention of NFL teams. The former Alabama quarterback was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent time with the Bengals, Buffalo Bills, Oakland (now Las Vegas) Raiders, Houston Texans, and Atlanta Falcons before going to the XFL. McCarron is now back with the team that originally drafted him. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network broke the news as Bengals’ quarterback Joe Burrow is dealing with a calf injury. McCarron, 33, has NFL experience and can help a Cincinnati team that has the talent to reach the Super Bowl.
