The game plan was clear from the beginning for Alabama offensively.

Run the dang ball.

Accompanied by a particularly fiery Nick Saban, the plan was executed to perfection on Saturday as the Crimson Tide defeated Mississippi State 40-17.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe had one of his better performances through the air and on the ground and made a number of explosive plays which included a 50-yard touchdown run in the first half.

Milroe threw the ball just 12 times on the day but completed 10 going for 164 yards but it was the team’s rushing attack that powered it to victory.

Alabama ran the ball over 40 times on the night for an average of 4.4 yards per carry with three total touchdowns.

Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams combined for over 100 yards on the ground behind an offensive line that put together its best performance of the season.

Alabama’s defense was excellent once again as it disrupted Bulldogs quarterback Will Rogers in the pocket and baited him into throwing three interceptions.

With linebacker Deontae Lawson out, Jihaad Campbell stepped up in his place recording 14 total tackles, 0.5 sacks and one of the interceptions.

Freshman defensive back Caleb Downs was also a standout defender adding 13 total tackles himself and an interception.

Alabama will now its attention to Texas A&M as it prepares to hit the road again next weekend.
