Gadsden City DB Zyan Gibson feels relief after earning offer from Alabama, Kalen DeBoer

Zyan Gibson earned an Alabama offer during a visit to watch the Crimson Tide’s spring practice on Monday.

Gibson is a sophomore at Gadsden City High School in Gadsden, Alabama. He holds previous offers from Memphis, Tennessee, UAB and Vanderbilt.

Alabama became the third SEC school to offer Gibson.

“It feels great to get this offer from Bama,” Gibson said. “It’s a big relief to earn this offer.”

The 2026 recruit had an opportunity to meet Kalen DeBoer during his visit and feels the Alabama head coach is easy to talk to.

“Coach DeBoer is a chilled coach,” Gibson told Touchdown Alabama. “I felt comfortable talking to him.”

Gibson’s former teammate is Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., who is an early enrollee for the Crimson Tide. The pair caught up on Monday.

“It was great to be able to watch the first practice,” said Gibson. “I got to hang out with Dre Kirkpatrick. It was just good having the chance to be around the players and coaches, great atmosphere.”

Gibson is a long 6-foot-1 DB with good reaction skills. He also works back down the field with good closing speed and can make plays on special teams as a returner.
