The University of Alabama football team is returning a familiar face to its offensive line.

Kadyn Proctor, an offensive tackle, will be re-enrolling in the summer.

RELATED: Kadyn Proctor spotted at Alabama’s spring game, but does he return to the Crimson Tide?

He arrived on the Crimson Tide’s campus in the 2023 recruiting class as a five-star from Iowa.

The 6-foot-7, 350-pounder helped the Tide to a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff berth at left tackle. Proctor did not have an easy transition; however, he improved throughout the season. He made the All-SEC Freshman Team last year, but Proctor chose to enter the NCAA transfer portal when Nick Saban announced his retirement on Jan. 10.

He was one of several names that took the opportunity to leave, but now he’s returning. Proctor has game experience, but is he a huge need for the Crimson Tide? Elijah Pritchett has improved on the outside, and he participated in all spring activities. He has gotten quicker with his footwork — showing his ability to establish his base, kick slide effectively, and neutralize edge rushers.

Proctor will have competition on his hands in his return, but competition makes Alabama great. The Tide could use an experienced player up front in Kalen DeBoer’s offense, and I broke down in Wednesday’s video for Touchdown Alabama Magazine why Proctor could be a need.

This GIANT lineman returns to Alabama, but do they need him?

We will see how he performs in his return.
