Former Alabama defensive analyst Charlie Strong is set to become the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next defensive line coach according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Strong served as a defensive analyst at Alabama in 2020 and 2023. He was a part of Nick Saban’s coaching staff on two separate occasions.

The Arkansas native did not coach anywhere this past season. He will now make his second stop in the NFL after previously serving as the associate head coach and inside linebackers coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2021.

He is one of a handful of former Nick Saban assistants that are now coaching in the NFL. Several others include Philadelphia Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland and New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll.
