Former Alabama wide receiver, Marquise Maze says he does not want his sons to play for a program like LSU after hearing the accusations made by former four-star graduate safety and cancer survivor, Greg Brooks Jr.

Brooks was the Tigers starting safety in 2023 and was considered by many to be an NFL prospect, all before abruptly being diagnosed with a brain tumor. He then underwent surgery by doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was allegedly treated by an unqualified surgeon, resulting in permanent life-altering injuries, ultimately putting an end to Brooks’ promising football career.

Brooks claims he or his family had not heard from anybody within the LSU coaching staff, specifically Tigers head coach Brian Kelly. Brooks Jr. and his father made this apparent in a recent TV interview with NFL hall of famer, Micheal Strahan and Good Morning America.

Brooks’ story has since drawn much conversation from circles around and outside of football, including the former Crimson Tide wideout. Maze took to X on Wednesday morning to slam LSU for the accusation made by the former Tigers safety and his father.

“If that’s true what the parents of that kid from LSU said about that program my sons could never play for a coach, trainers, or program like that! I’m not being just saying that because I’m all Bama either, that kid could’ve died,” Maze posted to X.

The Brooks family has since sued LSU and the hospital for medical negligence.
