The praise continues to flow in for one of Alabama football’s newest additions at wide receiver, Isaiah Horton.

Horton is a Miami transfer, who decided to join the Crimson Tide after the 2024 season.

The Tennessee product pulled in 56 receptions for 616 yards and five touchdowns for the Hurricanes in 2024 while playing with Cam Ward. Former Alabama quarterback, Greg McElroy said all signs point to Horton being a standout for the Crimson Tide next season.

“There’s a lot of people, there’s a ton of buzz right now that’s out there about what they’ve received from Isaiah Horton, the transfer from Miami,” McElroy said while discussing Alabama’s wide receiver room on ESPN’s “Always College Football.” “He’s big, he’s physical. They believe that he is a guy that can take the top off the defense and create big plays. He’s been very difficult to defend for a pretty good secondary so far this year, by all accounts.”

Kalen DeBoer highlighted Horton earlier in the spring as a valuable experienced addition to Alabama.

“He’s been out there,” DeBoer said. “The lights aren’t going to be too bright for him. You can see just his focus in the phase of workouts that we had. It’s important to him. He came here for a reason because he wanted to be pushed. He wanted to be challenged. He wanted to come around here.”

Germie Bernard, who was one of the Tide’s top wide receivers in 2024, is excited to play alongside Horton in 2025.

“I think with him we’re gonna be able to do a lot of great things. He can stretch the field, he can catch the ball, and make contested catches,” Bernard said, “I’m very excited to play beside him.”
