Gulf Shores’ tight end, Nick Hampton is considering a summer commitment announcement with several college football programs in the mix to land him.
Troy, South Alabama, South Florida, Georgia Southern and Louisiana remain in contentions for the talented 2026 tight end. He plans to take an official visit this summer to some of those schools.
South Florida is one of the latest programs to offer the junior, extending an offer to him in April. He wants to learn more about the Bulls in the future.
“It is a great culture and environment,” Hampton told Touchdown Alabama. “I am looking forward to communicating more with the coaching staff.”
Troy is making a strong push for the in-state talent. He has a great relationship with the Trojans’ tight ends coach and their quarterbacks coach.
“I really like coach (Kevin) Reihner and coach (Gerard) Parker,” Hampton said. “I have been up there a few times and I like the culture and environment.”
South Alabama is another in-state program in the mix for Hampton. He has visited the Jaguars several times.
“The coaches are great and they have a good program,” said Hampton. “I have visited several times. I feel like they utilize their tight ends very well.”
Louisiana is the very latest program to offer the Alabama native.
“They are the latest to really recruit me,” Hampton said when asked about the Ragin Cajun. “I feel they utilize their tight ends very well, considering the position led the Sun Belt Conference in receiving yards.”
Georgia Southern got out to see Hampton in the spring at Gulf Shores. Their efforts have him excited about building on their relationship.
“The Coaches are great,” said Hampton. “They came to visit me in the spring and I am looking forward to seeing where the recruiting process takes us.”
At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, Hampton is a receiving threat all over the football field as a big and physical target. He is also effective in the RedZone with his ability to box out defenders for the football. The Gulf Shores product also has no problem being a physical blocker in the run game.
What ever team picks Hampton up this summer will be happy.
