Alabama Football is 94 days away from kicking off the 2025 season inside Doak-Campbell Stadium against the Florida State Seminoles.

Today, Touchdown Alabama relives a memorable moment where one player that formerly wore No. 94 reeled in a touchdown pass.

In a 2019 College Football Playoff semifinal matchup, former Alabama defensive lineman, Da’Ron Payne scored a “big-boy” touchdown against Clemson. The Alabama native lined up in the backfield in one of Alabama’s heavy packages. Instead of serving as a run blocker, Payne slipped out of the backfield and into the flats to catch a 1-yard touchdown pass.

Alabama would go on to defeat the Tigers 24-6 to advance to the National Championship and defeat the Georgia Bulldogs.

Payne’s legendary catch will continue to be one of the most memorable moments in Alabama football history.

Touchdown Alabama will continue to relive memorable performances, moments and players each day leading up to the start of the 2025 season.
