Another SEC head coach has been fired, bringing the total up to four.

On Sunday, Auburn fired Hugh Freeze after losing 10-3 to Kentucky on Saturday. The Wildcats hadn’t won a conference game since September of 2024, and that SEC losing streak was snapped on the first day of November.

D.J. Durkin is expected to be the interim head coach for the Tigers. He was the defensive coordinator, and now he’s the interim head coach.

Auburn’s defense is one of the only bright spots on the team. The Tigers have not allowed over 24 points this season.

When looking at Alabama’s remaining schedule, the Crimson Tide will play two teams with an interim head coach, the first being LSU this Saturday. Brian Kelly was fired last week after an embarrassing home loss against Texas A&M.

At the end of the season, Alabama and Auburn will face off in the Iron Bowl. The Tigers are fighting for bowl eligibility, and if things go in Auburn’s favor, the Iron Bowl will once again have postseason bowl game implications.
