Alabama football has suspended Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. after he was arrested on multiple charges during the Crimson Tide’s bye week.
Kirkpatrick was arrested on three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude and speeding, per Tuscaloosa County Jail records. DeBoer provided a statement on Kirkpatrick during his Monday press conference.
“With this information that I have at this time, talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him, and he understands there’s consequences that come with his actions,” DeBoer said.
The sophomore is the son of former Alabama and NFL cornerback, Dre Kirkpatrick. He has mainly contributed on special teams this season, but he has also provided depth in the Tide’s secondary at times. He has accounted for nine total tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble through eight games.
