Alabama football’s wide receiver, Germie Bernard feels it was classless for Alabama fans to boo Conor Talty after he missed a 28-yard field goal against Eastern Illinois.

“It just sucks for the fans to do that,” Bernard said during an interview on “The Next Round Live.” “That was really classless. They shouldn’t be doing that, man, regardless of whether he’s making field goals or not.”

The Tide’s head football coach Kalen DeBoer provided insight Monday into how other Alabama players and Talty himself have handled him missing kicks.

“I think the biggest thing was probably just everyone in general, you’re human, right?” DeBoer said. “And so, people are going to make mistakes. I make mistakes. We all make mistakes, and then it’s the response and the things that he did. Well, he made it right with his teammates. He talked to them, and that’s what we can do. We move on. We write the wrongs, and now we just focus on what we can do, and that’s go be your best. That’s what he does in practice.”

Talty has made 11 of his 18 field goal attempts this season. His long is from 48 yards out.
