BREAKING: Former Alabama RB commits to Colorado

Former Alabama running back Richard Young is headed to the Big 12 to join Deion Sanders and Colorado according to multiple reports.

Young originally joined the Crimson Tide back in 2022 where he came in as one of the top running back recruits in the country. But his career never fully took off in Tuscaloosa, as he appeared in a total of 15 games where he recorded 59 carries for 234 yards and five touchdowns.

He was able to see an uptick in playing time during the early portion of the 2025 season helping fill in for an injured Jam Miller, but would appear in just five total games this season. Young entered the NCAA transfer portal back on Jan. 2 following Alabama’s loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff.

Young will join the Buffaloes with two years of eligibility remaining as he played in only three games during his true freshman season at Alabama.
