Tavares Harrington has managed build a great relationship with the Alabama football coaching staff.

Harrington is a 2027 four-star defensive back prospect who attends Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, Illinois. He holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, USC and others. Alabama and Georgia are both slated to get an official visit from Harrington.

The four-star plans to be in Tuscaloosa for an unofficial visit in March. He will return to Tuscaloosa for an official visit in June.

The Tide’s safety coach Jason Jones visited Harrington and his family in January.

“He came down to see me,” Harrington told Touchdown Alabama. “We spent a lot of time talking, him, me and my dad. My mom loves it down there. We’ve been building a relationship for a while now. They were one of my first offers. They were in my top, like, nine offers. So, for them to offer me so early and the relationship we’ve built, it’s great.”

Harrington plans to announce a commitment decision this summer.

“I’ll be committing in July,” Harrington said.

The Alabama target is looking to commit to a program filled with people who love football.

“That’s somewhere you want to be,” Harrington said. “You want to surround yourself with players that love football. I think they love football.
I know the coaches love football, like coach Wommack, coach DeBoer, coach Jones, coach Mo (Maurice Linguist.) They got some great coaches, and they develop players to the pros for sure.”

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder is a long defensive back who flashes the ability to make tackles in space. He also does a great job closing on the football in coverage. His length aids him in coverage as yet another long and rangy defensive back the Tide is targeting.
