He is one of three recent hires Kalen DeBoer made to his coaching staff at the University of Alabama, but he’s already making an impact in spring practice.
Alabama new offensive line coach makes practice ‘feel like the pros’
Adrian Klemm, the Crimson Tide’s new offensive line coach, has a daunting task of getting the best five players to work together up front, yet he’s begun the task nailing down both tackles and possibly the starting center. Racin Delgatty, a transfer from Cal Poly, earned big praise from offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb after Thursday’s practice in Grubb’s media availability.
The 6-foot-3, 301-pounder took very well to Alabama’s 4th Quarter strength program, adding healthy weight and muscle to his frame. Delgatty has also taken well to the Tide’s nutrition program, making sure he puts the right fuel into his body.
Coach DeBoer mentioned on Tuesday about Delgatty building up his physique to stand up to defensive linemen and linebackers in the Southeastern Conference. He was a three-star prospect at Saint Francis High School in California before logging 22 career games at Cal Poly. Delgatty is competing with Kayden Strayhorn, a transfer from Michigan, for the starting job at center – however, he has the upper hand. Delgatty led the first-team offensive line at center through three practices.

“Racin Delgatty has been doing an awesome job at center,” Ryan Grubb said Thursday.
“He has really taken the reins quickly. So I am excited to see him out there.”
Delgatty is building confidence with learning the installs, making calls, and getting everyone on the same page.
Transfer scouting report: What Alabama is getting in Racin Delgatty
He looks to fill the shoes left by an All-American in Parker Brailsford, who is heading to the NFL Draft.
Hopefully, Delgatty will continue progressing and lock up the center spot.
