Ryan Coleman-Williams feels watching Cederian Morgan adjust to college football as a freshman reminds him of when he was a 17-year-old first-year wide receiver.
Morgan and Williams are both natives of the state of Alabama, and both are former highly sought-after wide receiver prospects. Coleman-Williams has noticed Morgan working hard during his early days in Tuscaloosa. A reporter asked the third-year Alabama wide receiver Thursday if he felt Morgan could make an immediate impact.
“1,000 percent,” Williams said. “We have a lot of young guys that’s working their tail off, and Cederian’s one of them. It’s literally like looking in a time machine, watching a guy. He’s a little bigger than me, but literally, I’ve seen him since he was in high school. So, it’s just crazy to see how he’s came in, had his head down, trying to learn from older guys, and I remember being in that position.”
Morgan is listed at 6-foot-4 and 223 pounds on the Crimson Tide’s roster, and what makes him an Williams different is quite evident when you look at the pair of wideouts.
Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has put Morgan in the conversation of the young Alabama offensive players who can make an impact in year one.
“They’re already here on campus, back in Tuscaloosa,” Grubb said while talking about Morgan and EJ Crowell in February. “There’s a lot of physical characteristics that both of them have. They’re outstanding players, but the maturity and the mindset that those two guys have already at this point in their career has been really impressive. I’m excited to see what they can do this year. They’re not gonna have to wait long to get on the field.”

Morgan was considered a reliable pass catcher as a wide receiver prospect. He will look to being this reliability to the Crimson Tide’s offense.
