Alabama football will go at it in its first scrimmage of the spring on Friday.

The Crimson Tide’s offense will have new faces at several positions during this scrimmage, with only a few likely starters from 2025 returning to the team.

Here are five pending questions concerning the Tide’s offense ahead of the scrimmage:

How many snaps will each quarterback get?

Alabama football’s quarterbacks continue to battle it out this spring, with Austin Mack and Keelon Russell jockeying for position in the battle to be QB1. The distribution of snaps in this scrimmage will be really interesting. It is likely both quarterbacks get roughly the same amount of snaps with the projected starters, but a discrepancy in snaps could be quite telling.

How will quarterbacks fare against a talented secondary?

One of the things Alabama football’s offense has working to its advantage in terms of testing its quarterbacks while they battle it out is a talented and experienced secondary. This group is expected to be one of the best in college football, and if they practice like many expect them to play, they can make it quite challenging on the Tide’s wideouts.

Will run game show promise?

Alabama football will need an effective rushing attack in the upcoming season. If there is one thing the Alabama faithful learned in 2025, it is that it will be difficult for the Tide to have success on offense without a threat of a rushing attack. Ryan Grubb previously said the Tide’s running back room was looking different this spring, with Daniel Hill seemingly leading the way after dropping a significant amount of weight. Kevin Riley has added weight, and AK Dear’s future remains promising. EJ Crowell also still has a chance to make an impact as a freshman. Trae’shawn Brown and Khalifa Keith will also look to find their way. The Tide is likely looking for this group to show some promise on Friday.

How much continuity will there be on the offensive line?

Grubb announced Jackson Lloyd will start at left tackle earlier in the spring. Michael Carroll will also have a starting spot, according to Grubb. However, it is unclear if Carroll will start at guard or tackle. Racin Delgatty is projected to start at center after transferring from Cal Poly. With three starters locked in or close to being locked in along the offensive front, how much continuity will be on display among this group on Friday?

Which wide receivers make plays?

Alabama football’s wide receiver room is filled with potential, but there is not a lot of proven production on the Power four level outside of Ryan Williams and Noah Rogers. Lotzeir Brooks is expected to be more impactful in 2026, along with Rico Scott and Derek Meadows. Will these wideouts make major noise on Friday, or will a new face like Cederian Morgan steal the show?
