6-foot-4 JUCO DB starts to officially visit Alabama immediately after earning offer

Touchdown Alabama has learned Alius Mayo will be in Tuscaloosa over the next few days for an official visit after earning an offer on Wednesday.

Alabama football offered 6-foot-4 JUCO CB Alius Mayo @Aliusmayo4 yesterday.

His official visit starts today. Long CB prospect who fits the mold the Crimson Tide continues to prioritize.

Mayo attends Modesto Junior College in Stockton California. His offer list includes offers from Alabama, Cal, Louisville and others.

The Bears recently hosted Mayo for an official visit. The Crimson Tide keeping him on campus for his official visit immediately after earning offer makes the Tide the second team to host Mayo for an official visit.

The 6-foot-4 defensive back is a long and athletic cornerback who possesses a large cover radius with his long arms. That physical trait allows him consistently play through the hands of pass catchers as a defender. His highlights are filled with plenty of pass break ups. He also possesses the ability to make tackles in soace, which is something the Tide prioritizes on all levels of its defense, especially in the secondary.

Modesto reports Mayo played in 11 games last season and record 30 tackles and one interception.
